Do You Suffer From High Blood Pressure Headache?
A high blood pressure headache is a headache caused by hypertension. Although many people suffer from high blood pressure, not all of them suffer from related headaches. When headaches do result from high blood pressure, it is normally because the blood pressure is well above the average rather than a slight increase, or because the blood pressure has increased sharply and suddenly.
If your hypertension is only mild, then the likelihood of suffering frequent related headaches is not very high. There are some people that are more prone to getting a headache from high blood pressure than others. Those with a high diastolic reading seem to be more at risk than other according to recent studies. Also, women and those aged fifty and over seem to be at increased risk, based on the same studies. So, those most at risk would be women aged fifty or over with a high diastolic reading. If you do suffer from high blood pressure and headaches you should notify your doctor as soon as possible.
