Reasons for everyday headaches

One of the main reasons for daily headaches is overuse of medication. If you start using pain relievers beyond the limit - even more than dosage referred in the label or prescribed by doctors. It would be long before you realize your addiction to the drugs.

Once you miss the dose for a day, you would realize even a more aggravated pain than before.

It is commonly seen that several women experience daily headaches during pregnancy, even those who haven't experienced a lot of everyday headaches earlier.

Especially the women with a history of migraine headaches often suffer such bouts when they are pregnant.

Majority of women have pregnancy headaches, however these are normal, without anything to worry about

Usually the frequent headaches are caused when constriction of blood vessels to the brain resulting in decreased flow of blood to the brain.

As the blood vessels expand, it sends pulsations of blood to the brain generating throbbing pain.

Essentially the bio-chemicals in different foods are responsible for the constriction and dilation of blood-vessels. There is always a possibility that your diet is causing you headaches of various degrees.

Here are certain food stuffs that are known to instigate daily headache. Moreover, your eating habits – dehydration, skipping meals or fasting may also play a role in headaches.

Here are the common foods, additives and beverages lead to everyday headaches:

Tyramine containing foods
Aged cheese is a food with tyramine. It is also naturally found in some foods.

Alcohol
Headaches can result from hangover, due to increased blood flow to brain. Whiskey, dark beers, red wine and champagne are the some of the most commonly identified headache triggers.

Food additives
Certain food preservatives also trigger everyday headaches. It is better to avoid food additives as they dilate blood vessels, causing headaches.

Although there are various types of treatment to deal with daily headaches, still its important for you to develop healthy habits and take good care of yourself to prevent them.

Especially avoid the headache triggers that are likely to instigate the agony.

Have enough sleep and take meals on time. Most importantly, try relaxation exercises regularly in order to escape everyday headaches, relieve stress and keep fit.
