Tips To Say No To
Daily Migraine

Daily migraine is also known as transformed migraine, chronic migraine and chronic daily headache.

Daily Migraine woman

Patients who become victims of this physiological disorder are mainly those who are addicted to medicines like analgesics or ergots and even triptans.

Patients who have complaints of migraines on a daily basis are specifically those having previous history of periodic migraine headaches during their adolescence or twenties.

Migraines, which occur on a regular basis, are often accompanied by nausea or vomiting.

Daily migraine can be identified on the basis of its regular symptoms. However, unilateral migraines of the severe type are accompanied by nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light and sound and other significant symptoms and characteristics.

On the other hand, the bilateral migraine with mild to moderate intensity occurs with a “hatband” effect, which is quite similar to the tension type headaches.

Beverage and analgesic consumption is fairly high in case of individuals suffering from migraines.

Patients indulge themselves in having narcotic pain relievers like Vicodine and Hydrocodeine, Butalibital like Fiorinal or Fioricet and over the counter analgesics having high proportions of caffeine like Excedrin.

However, before starting on with prophylactic treatment for the successful remission of this headache type it is better that you stop overusing these medicinal varieties.

Make sure to treat your headache only under the strict supervision of an experienced physician.

Migraines are also referred to as rebound headaches or medication overuse headaches. Before you suffer from migraines, you experience short-term depression, tetchiness and poor appetite.

Daily chronic migraine causes immense pain in the head and it occurs almost everyday.

The pain affects either one or both sides of your head and it even causes pain in your neck and face. You panic, become anxious, you even cannot sleep due to Daily migraines, and migraine attacks.

Daily migraine attack is extremely disabling and quite difficult to be detected and cured.

The best treatment option of this migraine variety is to focus on reducing headache triggers and discontinuation of preventive medications like antidepressants and antiepileptic drugs.

As it has already been mentioned that victims of chronic migraines develop tendencies of depression and anxiety, so these conditions too require appropriate treatment and care.

It is challenging, yes quite challenging to treat conditions of Daily migraines but it is surely not an impossibility. Once the treatment of migraine starts, you will definitely enjoy an improved life and career.

Daily chronic migraine can also be treated by using certain antidepressants, anti-seizure medications and cardiovascular drugs. Unfortunately, these medicines may provide relief but cannot completely eradicate signs of migraine.

Warning symptoms of daily chronic migraines may include an aura involving both chemical and electrical transformations in the brain. It may also cause hindrance to the normal flow of blood to several parts of the brain.

The aura, which takes place as a significant symptom of migraine, can impair your vision giving forms to flashing lights and zigzag lines. These occurrences affect you to such an extent that you are unable to speak or make the correct use of your head.

Variation in the estrogen content can also cause migraine attacks. Due to this, women experience headache during menopause, pregnancy or when they take birth control pills.

A severe attack of daily margarines is quite a common phenomenon during and before menstrual periods.

How to treat and what medicines to use in case of Daily migraine

  • It is usually treated with anti-epileptic drugs such as divalproex sodium or topiramate

  • A combination therapy with antidepressants in the tricylic family along with a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) can provide relief to the condition. However, a combination therapy should only be used under the strict supervision of a medical practitioner

  • Conditions of migraine can also be relieved with the help of beta-blockers, calcium channel antagonists or anti-epileptic drugs along with other anti-depressants

  • Botox injections work wonders in treating conditions of migraine

  • Non-pharmacologic treatments such as physical therapy, biofeedback and counseling can also come up with promising results

  • The NSAIDs too work great in eliminating conditions of migraines on a daily basis

Application of drugs in treating conditions of Daily migraine is essential, but addiction to drugs should be strictly avoided to eliminate further complications in life.
