Such disturbances are more severe than the real headache condition, which occurs with numbness or a pins-and-needles sensation.

Ophthalmoplegic Migraine
This migraine type too is atypical and occurs around the eyeballs lasting for a few days to a few months. This is one of the most complicated migraine headaches caused either by a fractional or total paralysis of the nerves required for eye movement.

What occurs during complicated cases of migraine headaches?

Some of the preventive drugs prescribed for complicated migraine headaches include beta-blockers, tricyclic antidepressants, some anticonvulsants, calcium channel blockers, cyproheptadine (Periactin), and NSAIDs such as naproxen (Naprosyn).

Other drug varieties may include Methysergide maleate (Sansert), Lithium (Eskalith, Lithobid) and Indomethacin (Indocin).

Steroid like Prednisone (Deltasone, Meticorten) works great in trying to subside instances of complicated migraine headaches.
