Chronic Headache Crohns Disease

Vital chronic headache crohns disease article.

Chronic Headache Crohns Disease woman

Crohns disease may be a reason for suffering from chronic headache,.

However, the connection between crohns disease and vascular headache of the migranous type is still a matter of debate.

Some patients who suffer from chronic headaches do show signs of crampy periumbilical pain and diarrhea – significant symptoms of crohns disease.

When patients with these symptoms were put to radiological and surgical tests, it was confirmed that they did suffer from crohns disease.

Some causes
When discussing about chronic headache crohns disease affected patients are known to have peptic ulcers, gaseous colon and migraine. However, such patients with resected bowels do show the presence of a huge number of mast cells.

At times, the mast cells are known to release vasoactive substances like histamine and this causes episodes of unbearable headache.

Again, a damaged sulfate union of monamines or a reduced amount of monoamine oxidase particularly in an ailing bowel could ease the absorption and enhance the circulation of vasoactive substances leading to severe chronic headache.

A persistent headache is surely one of the symptoms of this disease and this malady bowel condition may end up with life-threatening impediments.

The Treatment
Treating a condition of chronic headache caused due to crohn’s disease is not so simple. Several therapies have evolved that reduce the indications and symptoms of the disease – thereby reducing chances of chronic headaches too.

In particular, cases of crohn’s disease treatment, medicines for controlling inflammation (mesalamine) and suppressing the immune system (6-mercaptopurine and a related drug) are generally prescribed.

These medicines as such do not cure a condition of crohn’s disease, but helps in reducing the symptoms. Thus, they are expected to successfully treat a condition of chronic headache – one of the prominent symptoms of crohn’s disease.

However, keeping aside chronic headache crohns disease is aptly treated and in most cases eliminated by a combination of drugs, nutritional supplements or surgery.
